Middle School Weekend Update
Hidden and Twin Oaks News: Sunday, March 24, 2024
What happens if we (ever) get a snow day?
PLSAS may use an E-Learning Day schedule in the event of inclement weather. E-Learning days will proceed in an asynchronous fashion, meaning students will not attend "live" digital class sessions. Here are the guidelines for Middle School E-Learning days:
Each class will have an asynchronous assignment posted to its Schoology page by 8:00 AM.
Students will work at their own pace on assignments for the day.
Teachers will be available during typical building hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) to answer questions via email and Schoology.
How do I structure my day?
1. Log into Schoology and look at ALL of your classes. Your teacher will post an "e-learning assignment" on top of their Schoology page by 8 AM.
2. Make a list of things you need to complete for the day. Use paper/pencil or in Notability.
3. Start working on the assignments throughout the day and don't forget to submit them. Remember, you are responsible for these assignments.
4. Reach out to your teacher with ANY questions or if you need help. Remember, teachers are available from 7am to 3pm to respond to messages.
End of the Quarter 3
The end of Quarter 3 is quickly approaching. The final day of quarter 3 will be Thursday, March 28th. There will be no school on Friday, March 29th for a teacher grading day. Please work with your student to review their grades and complete any missing work or tests before the end of the quarter.
Sleep Tips for Teens
Is your child getting enough sleep? It's recommended that teenagers get 9-12 hours of sleep each night. Many students admit they are not getting enough sleep due to being on their phones late or having trouble falling asleep. Getting adequate sleep reduces stress, restores our immune system, boosts our mood, and improves memory. Sleeping well is even associated with better grades and increased energy throughout the day. Sleep is an especially important part of your child's education! Check out the Tips for Better Sleep | Change to Chill

Strategic Plan Meetings
We need your input! Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools has begun a strategic plan review and is seeking input to help establish a shared vision among community members.
To participate, families, staff, students and community members will have an opportunity to provide feedback during community meetings being held through April. Input gathered from these meetings will be reviewed by a Strategic Plan Core Team of diverse community members who are working together to form a draft that identifies key priorities and defines the roadmap for learner success in PLSAS. The draft plan will then be reviewed by the School Board in May.
Please consider attending one of the community meetings:
